Cool It Burque

Cool it Burque empowers our community to significantly cool life at ground level by regenerating bare land and restoring the forest canopy, water cycle, and soil carbon sponge.

We welcome everyone to join our grassroots movement to steward mini urban forests and ecologically healthy landscapes throughout Albuquerque!

How We're Cooling ABQ

🌳 Teach people β€” through free workshops, hands-on projects, and resources β€” to grow native tree/shrub seedlings, focusing on edible and medicinal plants.

🌳 Establish a native tree nursery in every neighborhood.
🌳 Introduce islands of biodiversity to Albuquerque through Miyawaki mini-forests and other forestry/ agroforestry projects.

🌳 Steward low-input, low-maintenance, and resilient urban plant communities.
🌳 Increase food security and improve safety and quality of life for ALL beings (humans, birds, pollinators, etc.) who call Albuquerque home.

🌳 Do work that’s repeatable, collaborative, and low cost; share what we learn freely and widely.
